Super + Enter opens Kitty. Hyprland defines $terminal = kitty; the shell is Zsh. Command history is never an audit source.

Interpretation: The variable does not prove which shell launched every existing terminal process.

Expected: No output and status 0 means no parser error was found.

Interpretation: This checks syntax, not whether every plugin, path, or external command is available at runtime.

Aliases and functions are documented only from permitted configuration and are redacted if they expose a private path, host, or credential.

Arch does not support partial upgrades. pacman -Syu changes the system and is never run automatically by this manual.

Before editing Zsh or Kitty, locate the included file that owns the setting and create a timestamped copy. Keep command history outside the documentation workflow: it may contain private paths, hosts, pasted tokens, or one-off commands that do not describe the current setup. After a shell edit, validate syntax and open a new terminal; do not replace a working shell process until the new one starts correctly. Restore the copied file if startup or prompt behaviour regresses.
