The active-window label is compact. Workspaces are scoped per monitor and show up to five labels per display.

Operating model

Hyprland owns window state; Caelestia presents controls and state derived from the session. A tiled window participates in the dwindle layout. A floating window is still managed by Hyprland but is removed from the tiling tree. Fullscreen changes presentation, not the application’s process state. The generated shortcut explorer is authoritative for the loaded config combinations.

The three configured displays divide numbered workspaces: the central DP-1 uses 1–5, HDMI-A-1 uses 6–10, and rotated DVI-D-1 uses 11–16. This is CONFIG evidence; the isolated audit could not capture runtime workspace state.

Keyboard-first flow

Open the launcher with Super + Space or a direct application binding.
Move focus without reaching for the pointer.
Send a window to the intended workspace instead of dragging it between displays.
Use the sidebar for shell information and session controls.
Before shutdown, reboot, logout, or hibernate, treat the action as state-changing.

If the visible desktop disagrees

Distinguish presentation from ownership. If the bar is absent but windows still tile, inspect Caelestia. If a workspace or focus rule is wrong, inspect Hyprland. If Thunar alone has wrong colours, inspect GTK. Compare the relevant configuration, then use the structured troubleshooting index; do not replace all dotfiles.
